There is
strength
in the
solace
of
my
mind.
For in
solitude,
I may
embrace
individuality.
I am
one
of a kind.
Your
opinion,
I do not
seek.
Though if
you inquire,
my thoughts
are not
for
the
weak.

See Me

Hey see me:
the wallflower.
Countless
times
they’ve laid
sour
words,
but I
refuse
to give
them
power.
There is
comfort
in what
they
perceive
to be
the cold.
My dear,
as you
sit
in the
shadows,
know that
my hand
is here
for you
to hold.

They call me:

Shy,

but I prefer

to travel
unblind.
They tell me:
I am
contained
in a shell
I need
to
break.
I tell them:
I may
leave
as I
please,
for the
world
needs
to awake.
My
soul
is cocooned.
Protected,
so I can
grow.
In this
life,
I don’t
intend
to aim
low.

We are
the light
in the dark.
We are
an island
cast in
iron.
Yet,
you try
to exhaust
our
future.
You shake
away
our
dreams
as if they
were ashes
upon the wind.
You lay us
under a
veil,
expecting
everyone
to wail
in
silence.
No.
Our
voices
shall reign.
Our
choices
shall
journey
past
crowded
pain.
We will
peel
ourselves
from this
wall.
A flower,
we needn’t be.
We are
the youth,
and
we
are
free.

They read
past
your
visage.
Not
unbeknownst,
this aura
is a
mirage.
You will
never
fool their
heart,
lest your
ego
wishes
to be
torn
apart.
“Quiet,
they may be.”
Perceptive,
are we.

One
is enough.
We
do not
need
more
to feel
tough.
One
can warm
our souls.
Peace
thrives
as their
love
engulfs.
Your vortex
brings
dismay.
Fear not.
One
will keep
all demons
at
bay.

Loneliness
is not
birthed
from
isolation,
but
crowds.
Together,
as individuals,
they cannot
bring
us down.
Unwanted
whispers
impregnating
our thoughts.
They will
not
ferment.
We will
not
rot.
Seeds of
irritation
sprout
from the
depths
of superficiality.
They will
never
kill
our individuality.
Expansive
is the
mind,
sensitive
yet
so
much
more.
The journey
is not
one
to be
forced.
For kindred
souls
shall merge.
Bonds
so strong
can
never
diverge.
